The Bakery Atlanta’s 2025 Impact Report
This year marked The Bakery Atlanta’s first full year operating out of The Supermarket, a partnership and physical home that has deeply shaped how The Bakery can show up for artists and creatives. While our work extends across the city and through our digital platforms, having a consistent space has allowed us to build rhythm, experiment at scale, and gather our community in ways that simply wouldn’t be possible otherwise. This year, we perfected our “Bakery Takeovers” at The Supermarket. These are evenings and afternoons where multiple Bakery programs unfold simultaneously, inviting attendees to choose-your-own adventure with art, education, and entertainment.
With two to four events happening at the same time, ranging from our Figure Drawing Session with a live model to our Literary Open Mic, these takeovers reflect the collaboration, experimentation, and play that define our approach to community-centered programming. We brought 125 programs to life in 2025 spanning recurring series, workshops, youth programs, and large-scale events. Through these programs, we were able to distribute $18,000 to our teaching artists, performing artists, and community event organizers.
Throughout 2025, we also presented 17 art exhibitions displaying the work of more than 250 artists. Of these, nearly 20% sold work with us, totaling $7,000 of art sales distributed to visual artists. Our exhibitions span a wide range from unjuried bring-your-own-art shows to curated, multi-disciplinarily fine art exhibitions in partnership with institutions like Emory University.
Beyond working in our physical space, The Bakery continues to support artists through digital resources that increase access to opportunities, events, and visibility across Atlanta’s arts ecosystem. This year, we shared 52 curated event listings, highlighted 250 artist opportunities, published new blog content, and connected hundreds of people through our growing interactive artist directory and map.
In the fall of 2025, The Bakery received a transformative $200,000 grant spanning 36 months from the Mellon Foundation, the nation’s leading private arts funder.
This support has strengthened our capacity and affirmed the importance of the work we do. We are also deeply grateful for ongoing support from Community Corps, City of Atlanta Cultural Affairs, Fulton County Arts & Culture, and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Individual donors also make a huge impact in supporting our work, including a 2025 crowdfunding effort with over 75 donations totaling over $8,000, exceeding our campaign goal and celebrating our eighth birthday.
2025 was a year of growth, connection, and possibility. With a thriving home at The Supermarket, and incredible support from our community, The Bakery Atlanta is stronger than ever. Thank you for being part of this work - we are excited for what comes next in 2026 and beyond!
See you soon,
